Catwalk Model - Lauren Jones

I have Chosen Lauren as my model for my catwalk shoot as it is inspired by Native American tribes and Lauren olive skin tone and dark hair will work to bring out my design. She also has very Long thick hair which with the braiding of the hair and design is essential.

Editorial Model - Rebecca Ainger

I chose Rebecca as my model for my editorial shoot as this design is mainly based on African tribes and her dark skin and texture of her hair will allow my design, which is focused around the gold leaf and big hair piece, work to its full potential.

When time walker turns fashion shoots into fairy tails, familiar landscapes become unmapped territory, familar faces half remembered. walkers photographs remind us how to dream again.

These are a few photos from the exhibition that inspired my tribal research, i found Tim Walkers photographs mesmerising and very capturing almost getting a snap shot of a story he captures the atmosphere and characters of the photo in such a natural and intriguing way.

His photos of Simon and Kiki mix the tribal earthy world with a modern solidness the harsh comparison  is almost quite disheartening seeing a beautifully natural world forced into harsh reality.

I want to capture the nature and beauty of the tribal dress and make up in my design but with a modern, fashion take to it swell, however i don't want such a harsh comparison as walker provides.

The practice of tattooing and piercing is widespread in tribes throughout the world. Practices, beliefs and materials differ among tribes and regions. As Europeans began exploring the world, they learned about different tattooing and piercing practices. The history of tribal piercing and tattooing has influenced tattoo and piercing practices today.
